Group Shot- Crafting Family

Tuesday is my day to post over at The Crafting Family, so here's my contribution for the week:

Started with some fabulous papers from My Minds Eye (that you can buy over at The Crafting Family!) and combined with this great SKETCH from Skissedilla:

For the theme of my layout, I went with the challenge over at Scrapping Everyday Miracles; this month their challenge is to focus on GROUPS, plus add a CLUSTER of embellies. Since I was a little girl we have been vacationing at the same beach house, and it's an annual tradition to snap a pic of all the cousins on the porch steps. So cool that now we're adding a second generation of kiddos to the pic, all of our children!

I have also incorporated STRIPED paper and STAR brads for the challenge over at Shopping Our Stash; and I'm linking up at ANYTHING GOES at Make It Monday! Thanks for stopping by! =) T

Crazy Catch up Post

soccer tournements, fathers day, baseball game, birthday, awards ceremony, out to dinner 4 nights in a row, last day of school...I have now had a moment to do my usual blogging fun lately! Taking a few hours this morning to play catch-up! First up is my layout I created last week for Child's Play Challenges:
Our challenge was to create a layout inspired by the book, "Where the Wild Things Are". The set-up of my title and pictures mimics the layout of the book cover.

Next I have my layout for the latest sketch at Sketches in Thyme:

And finally I have a layout I created using a sketch I created for Crafting Family:

Thanks for stopping by! =) T

Meet You at the Station- Twisted Sketches

It's the 3rd anniversary of fabulous sketches over at Twisted Sketches, and we're celebrating with another great sketch plus the twist of 3!!

I decided to go with pictures of my kiddos and the little girl that comes to visit us each summer through the Fresh Air Program. If you're not familiar with FAF, it's a fabulous program that's been around since 1877, giving inner-city children the joy of a summer vacation with volunteer host families and at Fresh Air Fund camps, creating unforgettable memories and fresh possibilities.

For my title I used a line from "The Last Train to Clarksville" by The Monkees, for this week's OLDIES BUT GOODIES challenge at Lasting Memories! I added a chipboard 3 with a little tie of twine around it to represent my 3 kiddos. My postcard PP is actually an 8x8 piece that I cut and split to make it look like it was a 10" piece! Be sure to stop on over to Twisted Sketches to see the great sketch and takes from the rest of the DT! =) T

4 You- Crafting Family

Have my weekly layout for The Crafting Family to share with you today:

For this layout I started by getting punchy! First I dressed up my scrap of yellow pindot paper with a scallop PUNCH, and then created my fun little floral embellishments with a 1 1/2" circle PUNCH- for the challenge at The Corrosive Challenge. Cut out 4 notches, inked the edges, added brads, and I had funky flowers! Pulled some chipboard from my stash, and incorporated the fabulous COLOR SCHEME from CR84FN. I also USED SOMETHING RECYCLED for the challenge at Love To Create, can you guess what it is? ....It's the fabulous houndstooth tissue paper, saved that from a birthday gift and have been storing it in the craft room- it was just too pretty to throw away! =) T

My Wish and a DT Call!!

We have a new song (and a DT Call!!) up at Scrap It With a Song- this week we're singing along to "My Wish" by Rascall Flatts. Not being a country girl, I wasn't familiar with this one, but the lyrics are absolutely beautiful. I had just the right pic of my daughter to go with the line, "My your dreams stay big, your worries stay small":

This was a quick LO to put together, starting with a fabulous SKETCH from Creative Craft World. My background paper is actually more gree than it appears in the pic, and I also have a recycled bingo card and vintage book page for the GO GREEN challenge at Fab and Funky. My LONG TITLE is for the challenge at Use Your Stuff and I've added a lacey green RIBBON for the Unstampabelles.

You have until June 30th to play along with any of our songs on the June Playlist, or join in our DT call at Scrap It With a Song! See you there! =) T

Playing Catch-Up!

Have a few layouts to share with you, it's been a busy week for this design team member!! First up is my layout for the "Homecoming" theme at Scrap Our Stash:

This was another one of my "20 minutes or less" layouts, 2 4x6 photos across the bottom (although I think I trimmed them to 3x6), over 2 pieces of scrap paper. Stapled a piece of ribbon across the top of the pics, ran a border sticker across the bottom, a quick sticker title and the page was complete!

Next I have a LO from a few weeks ago, that somehow I just completely forgot to blog about, oops! This was for a sketch at Twisted Sketches:

Fabulous picture of my Dad back in the 70's with his amazing striped bellbottoms! Love finding old pics like this, not sure how he feels about it though, sorry Dad!

Finally I have a LO made for this week's sketch at Sketches in Thyme. Here's the sketch (my own design!):

and here's the layout:

Along with the Sketches in Thyme sketch, I am also combining this with the MONOCHROME challenge at Truly Madly Crafty, and the FUN IN THE SUN challenge at Delightful Challenges.

Tuckerman's Ravine- Child's Play Challenges

This week at Child's Play Challenges, we're playing with every child's favorite ride-on toy, the cozy coupe! Here's what I was inspired to create:

I started with some green acrylic paint on the pattern paper to tone down the polka dots a bit, and once the paint was dry, I doodles a little scalloped frame on top. I trimmed my journaling card to fit the area I wanted to place it in, and then added a piece of the scrap to the top right corner as a little accent. LOVE using those scraps!

Want to play along with us? We have 4 great challenges lined up for June, along with a DT call!! I'll look for you in the linky at Child's Play Challenges!! =) T

Easter Sunday- Crafting Family

There is no rhyme or reason to the order in which my photos make it to the scrapbook, so yes, today I am scrapping a vintage photo, Easter 1980!!

This layout was made for my weekly post at Crafting Family, using some fabulous papers and Mister Hueys spray ink that you can purchase from The Crafting Family shop here. I hand-cut the chevrons from 1" strips of double-sided pattern paper, so just 2" used from a single piece of paper, plenty more to pull for another project, how's that for frugal? =) T

Totally Tubular- True XOXO

This month at True XOXO we're heading into the closet to see what kind of inspirationwe can find in there! My closet is sort of along hallway, with all the clothes on the right, and empty space to walk (or pile dirty clothes!) on the left. I also noticed that my clothing is mainly orange, pea green and blue, so here's what I came up with:

It was a pretty quick LO to put together, pulled 3 sheets of PP from my scrap bin and cut into 1 1/2" squares. Ran a pen along the inside of each square for a free-form outline. I placed my pic in the center, and then adhered the squares above and below. Added a quick chipboard title ("totally tubular" is sort of perfect in a corny way!), piece of ric rac and a circle punched from graph paper. under 20 minutes and I had a super fun layout!

Want to head into your closet and see what you find, or want to use one of the True XOXO DTs layouts as inspiration? Link up with us, we'd love to see what you create! =) T

Fragile- Craft Garden

Today I have my layout created for the new challenge at The Craft Garden. in honor of the Jubilee, we're using a cache cover from the Royal Mail, along with ONLY one color Red, White OR blue! Here's what I came up with:

I pulled the burgandy, cream and kraft colors from the cache to use as my color scheme. The stamped flourish mimics the fancy "W" on th cache, and obviously I went with a  postage-theme with my photo and stickers. This is what I love most about participating in challenges- I normally would not have even taken a photo of a stack of packages, much less scrapped about it, but those challenges really get your brain goig in lots of fun and creative directions!

Come on over to Craft Garden to see what the rest of the DT has come up with, and take partin the challenge with us! =) T

Imagine- Black with Two

So excited that challenges are going again at Black With Two, and I get to be part of the design team again! Four our first month back, we are scrapping with Black, Blue and White, and we have this pic to get us started:

Here's my layout:

I started with the latest fabulous sketch from Frosted Designs. Then I added a couple hoarded supplies for the challenge at Use It Tuesday. The pattern paper which was actually from my sister-in-law's stash. She purchased a ton of fabulous blue PP for her wedding scrapbook FIVE years ago, and since she never got to it, I was lucky enough to take custody of her stash! My other hoarded item is the chipboard "imagine" which was a Michaels $ bin score several years back. Thanks so much for stopping by, hope to see your BLACK, BLUE and WHITE project over at Black With Two! =) T
