Pocket Scrapping- Week 7

Good morning friends! It's Sunday and that means for you Pocket Scrapbookers....the beginning of WEEK 7!! I know I keep gushing each week about how much i am loving this...but truly I am having so much fun with my little 6x8 pockets of scrappy goodness. And each week I find that I am discovering, learning, growing... My little discovery for this week, somehow I thought that adding this Pocket Scrapbook to my crafty plate would be too much, but it's actually helping me get MORE accomplished?!?! It reminds me of when I was in college and I usually took 6 classes per semester, but 1 semester I decided to give myself a break and only take 5, and I was a total slacker for all 5. Maybe for me, MORE is LESS? At any rate, I am scrapping, painting, and pocketing more than ever. Here are weeks 4 and 5:

And my Pocket Scrapping Tips and Tricks for the week:
  1. I am loving the style of Krafty Kat, stop by her blog to see her Project Life...In Pink!
  2. Subscriptions to monthly kits are a great way to build your stash with the latest and greatest products. Frosted Designs kits let you choose the option of "clean fun" or "messy fun" depending on your style. I'm a messy fun kind of girl!
  3. Looking for some Pocket Scrapping cards to go with this cold weather we've been having? Check out these FREE printables available at Day Dreamer
  4. I have seen a few people stamp on their pics, and I decided to give it a try (see my "explore" on week 5). Learn from my mistake: only stamp on photos with Stazon, regular water based ink smudges on the glossy surface!!
  5. Not sure what to journal on your Pocket Pages? Read this quick but inspiring blog post over at Write.Click.Scrapbook
Happy Pocketing! =) T

Here We Come a Caroling

2nd post of the day- my kiddos both have friends over and I've been able to scrap scrap scrap! Here's my next layout:

This was a pic of all our town Girl Scout troops Christmas caroling a few years back- I scrap completely at random, so earlier today I had a pic from last November, and now I'm doing one from December 2011. Just whatever suits my fancy! For this layout, I started with a fun sketch from Sketch N Scrap- since I had 3 pics, this one worked well, but I had to flip it on its side to make it work for my photos.

Next I used the color combo over at Color Throwdown:

And finally I incorporated the MUSIC INSPIRATION challenge over at Use Your Stuff through my title, "here we come a caroling". Other than the background paper, all the rest of the elements are from the stash- the strips of paper behind my photo are all from the scrap bin, and the corrugated letters are from a package I purchased several years ago and have apparently been hoarding (I didn't even know I had them!!). Thanks for the visit, =) T

You're My Type

Saturday morning and I'm getting into my scrappy challenge groove for the day! First up is this fun little layout I made in under 20 minutes (LOVE when that happens!):

I started this one with a fun COLOR and SKETCH challenge over at Color me Scrappy:

Once I had my colors and layout figured out, it was time to embellish! I used my cloud templates to draw a few clouds for the SKY challenge at Twisted Tuesday. I used 2 adorable digital freebies from Paper Smooches- the owl and "you're a hoot". The Owl works for the SOMETHING THAT FLIES twist at Twisted Tuesdays as well as the ANYTHING GOES challenge at Paper Smooches. So much fun all wrapped into one quick and easy LO, now back to scrapping! Thanks for stopping by, =) T

Bunny S'mores

It's a snow day here in New England, it has been snowing since 6am, not sure how much we have so far, but there doesn't seem to be an end in sight! I'm not much of a snow person, but I do love a chance to spend the day all cozy and warm in the craft room. I got all caught up on my Pocket Scrapping (just finished week 5!) and also made this layout:

To get started, I first used this sketch from Sketchabilities:

And combined it with the yummy pastel color combo at The Studio Challenges:

That's what so great about challenges, getting you to work outside your comfort zone. I don't usually go for pastels, but they are so pretty for this Easter layout, I'm so glad I did!  Hope you're nice and warm, =) T

Pocket Scrapping- week 6

Hello friends. For those of you doing any Pocket Scrapbooking, we are now in WEEK 6 of this adventure for 2014. I am doing a good job of staying on track so far, but I must admit it's taking much more time than I had expected. Here are my weeks 2 and 3:

I also have a few tips to share with you Project Lifers this week:
  1. Love putting my Instagram pics to good use, and adding graphics and text to the pics before printing is a bonus. Just purchased a fabulous app from Rhonna Designs and it is so fun to play with! I'll have some pics to share in next week's entry showing off what I've been creating!

  2. Want to get inspired with a fabulous 12x12 PL layout? Check out the latest from Scrapping Mom of One Inspiring Boy
  3. Need some fabulous printables? Check out these beauties from Elle's Studio.
  4. Ready to print those printables? Save your printer ink for school projects and have yours done at Staples, much more cost effective!!
  5. Looking for ideas on pics to take? I've decided to take the #fmsphotoaday challenge from Fat Mum Slim, she has great prompts to help you capture the everyday, here's her Feb list:

    Happy pocketing! =) T

Let The Fun Begin

Hello everyone, back again with another scrapping layout to share. This is a fun time to get scrappy, it's the beginning of the month and there are SOOOOO many challenges to choose from! I decided to scrap some pics from last Easter, and had 5 photos to use. Because I love to start with a sketch, I decided to use this 2-pager from Stick It Down:

and here's my take:

Sorry the color is not all that fabulous, I'm actually using the Baked Brown Sugar, Regal Rose, and Soft Sky color combo from Color Throwdown. My dotted background paper is brown with white dots, but I'm not sure if that even shows in this photo. To embellish my layout, I used RIBBON for the challenge at Pile It On, as well as RIC RAC, a HEART, and GLITTER from the challenge at Anything But a Card. And since I have Easter pics here, I'm also entering it in the SPRING challenge at Lasting Memories. Thanks for stopping by! =) T
