Scrappin with the Call Girls

Yes, my married name makes me an actual "Call Girl" and since I scrapbook with my 2 sister-in-laws and my mother-in-law, I can proudly say that I spend my time scrapbooking iwth a bunch of talented Call Girls! this past weekend we went to a "No Frills" weekend crop, sponsored by a favorite LSS, Rubba Stampa & Scrapbookas Attic http://www.rubbastampa.com/. The "no frills" meant there were no goody bags, no contests and no food- just a weekend of scrapbooking. and for $25, that was just fine with me!

Even with being gone for most of Saturday for my cousin's wedding, I was still able to create 19 layouts- which was quite an accomplishment for me. I have set a goal of 200 layouts for 2009, so according to my "layout tracker" I still have 119 to go! Yikes, that means I need to do 3.8888 per week to reach my goal...wish me luck!

At any rate, here are a few of my favorite accomplishments from the weekend!

Sketch-a-holic!

I've been enjoying all the amazing sketch blogs that are out there- don't get me wrong, i love being creative and coming up with new and inventive layouts. But sometimes, isn't it nice to NOT "reinvent the wheel"?? Letting someone elses' creativity jump-start mine can sometimes be just the thing I need to get over that scrapper's block I might have. I have two fav spots lately for sketching inspiration. The first is Nuts About Sketches which I am happy to say I serve as a member of the "sketch team" there! She posts a new sketch every Monday, along with layouts created by myself and the 5other talented sketch team members. The second is 52 Sketches 52 Weeks. Here they have a weekly sketch posted and a lovely gallery where you can participate and post your own layout based on the weekly sketch. Stop by and visit sometime, and perhaps gain a bit of inspiration yourself!

Here's this week's sketch from Nuts About Sketches...and my interpretation! You can see that I flipped my layout to accomodate my vertical photos.
