We've Got Your Number at Paper Issues!

There's a new theme up at Paper Issues- perfect for this time of year of list-making and organizing, "We've Got Your Number". For this theme I linked up a layout from 2010 that I created for Punky Scraps:

Do you ever have those days when it feels like you never leave the kitchen? Well, I do, ALL.THE.TIME. I snapped a pic of me in front of the microwave and made a *slightly* exaggerated timeline of my daily kitchen "duties".

So, what's your number? We would love to see what numerical projects you've been working on so go on over to Paper Issues and link up!!! =) T

A Few Challenges to Post About

Good morning blog land! Have a few challenges to post about today. First up, I wanted to share the news about my latest creation, a new challeneg blog called Child's Play Challenges. This blog will feature challenges inspired by classic toys, favorite story books and great kids TV shows and movies. Challenges will begin in February, but I'd love for you to stop on over there and say hello, become a new follower and maybe even give my Design Team Call a whirl!!

Next up, I have the layout I created for this week's challenge at Sketches in Thyme to share with you.

Just a picture of my 2 kiddos being goofballs- I think they were trying to hide miss E in the stuffed animals, but she's just too cute to blend in! For this layout I combined the SKETCH at Sketches in Thyme, the ANYTHING BUT CHRISTMAS challenge at Corrosive Challenge Blog and the COLOR SCHEME at Sketchy Colors

And lastly I have my layout for this week's sketch at Twisted Sketches:

For this layout I started with Twisted Sketch #132 and added glittered foam letters for my title for the GLITTER twist. My title, "time for a snow day" incorporates the TIME challenge at Bird is the Word and the WINTER WONDERLAND theme at Lasting Memories.

Thanks for stopping by! =) T

A New Challenge Blog and a DT Call!!

There's a new kid on the block, Child's Play Challenges. I've been spending a lot of time in toy stores lately doing my Christmas shopping, and after all of the blocks I've played with, the games I've looked at and the books I've sorted through, an idea came to me... why not create a challenge blog using toys and games as inspiration? Most of us scrapbookers feature children in our layouts, whether it's our own children doing yet another adorable thing or even digging up old childhood photos from the attic. We celebrate children and childhood all the time in our layouts, and through this new challenge blog, I'll hopefully offer up some inspiration to keep those pages coming!!

To get started, I am looking for a few talented and creative scrapbookers out there to join me in this adventure at Child's Play Challenges. If you'd like to play along with fun challenges, partipate in the blog and motivate others to take part in the fun, this might be the place for you! Your term would run February-August 2012, and you would be asked to complete 1 layout per month. If you would like to be considered, here's what you need to do:

1-Create a new layout just for the call at Child's Play Challenges based on the toy below.

2-Post about the DT call on your blog, along with your take on the challenge.

3-Leave a comment at Child's Play Challenges telling us that you would like to be considered for the DT, along with a link to your blog post, and be sure to include your email address!

4-Become a new follower and spread the word about this playful new challenge blog!

The deadline for this call is January 27th, and the new Design Team will be announced on February 1st! Can't wait to see what you come up with!! =) Tiffany

Time for a new song at Scrap It With a Song, "I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day"! This week I am still chipping away at all those Christmas pics from last year (and maybe previous years too- yikes!). I made a list of all the "typical" holiday events I like to scrapbook- Christmas Cards, School Concert, Visit with Santa, Christmas Crafts, Cookies for Santa, Christmas Eve, Christmas Morning...no wonder I'm always behind!! well, here's another to add to the album:
I decided to use the line "the old familiar carols play" as my title. These were pics from last year's school concert- my son was not to pleased with squeezing between his sister and cousin for the photo! =) T

There's a new challenge for the month up at Black with Two. This month's assignment is DOMINANT BLACK ....with Red, Green and a hint of gold or silver or both if you feel creative. Here's what I came up with:

I used red pattern paper, cardstock and a chipboard flower for the red; a jumbo felt circle and a cardstock tag for my green, and added silver brads for the silver element. I also incorporated the word "Trust" in my title and used the sketch from the current challenge at Bird is the Word. =) T

December Challenge at The Craft Garden!

Wow- December already!! Time for a new challenge at The Craft Garden, this month's challenge is super fun, a recipe challenge! It works like this- each design team member has chosen an ingredient in the recipe and you have to use 4 of those items in your creation. Your choices are:
Kerry - turquoise (for one of December's birthstones)
Carly - Snowflakes
Melly - Kraft
Tiffany- Office Supply
Kevin - Ribbon
Jay - Buttons
Cathy - charm
Helen - Purple
Kylie - Paint

Here's what I came up with using Turquoise (cardstock), Office Supply (tickets), Ribbon, Buttons & Purple (my ribbon and buttons):

I hope you'll get in on the action at The Craft Garden and give our recipe a try, would love to see what you come up with! =) T

Challenges:

Guess Who's a Guest Designer at Scrap Our Stash???

yup, little old me!! I'm thrilled for the chance to be a guest designer over at Scrap Our Stash this month, the challenge blog that encourages you to use that stash. Whether it be cartloads of cardstock, a bonanza of buttons, or ridiculous ribbons, we all have plenty!! As part of my introduction over there, I turned to my stash of ribbons and buttons to create this layout- gasp, a 2-pager!!

Sorry for the flash reflected off the photo, that's what happend when you try and take a pic in bad lighting late at night! For this layout I used 6 scraps of green ribbon, and 6 green buttons. All the greens are a bit different, but I think it adds to the whimsy of the page not being so matchy-matchy.

I hope you'll have a chance to stop on over at Scrap Our Stash, say hello and maybe dig into your own stash for a bit of creating! I'm also linking this up at Paper Issues "Holiday Madness" Linking party- if you're looking for creative holiday crafting ideas, this is the place to go! =) T

Time to Get Twisted!

It's time for a new sketch over at Twisted Sketches. You'll have to go over there to see the sketch for yourself, but I can give you a bit of a peek by showing you the layout I created:

Since the twist this week is flowers, I added a great chipboard flower embellie that I've had in the stash for a while. I've also included a few items as part of the "Get Picky" challenge at Punky Scraps (no pattern paper, book page, tape and masking). Now hop on over to Twisted Sketches and check out the sketch, as well as the great takes from the rest of the DT! =) T

Today's LO is one I made for Crafting Family- Tuesday is my day to post. I've created this LO with the help of a few challenges- the color scheme is from Lasting Memories, Karen has posted a fabulous quilt with vibrant pinks, purples and reds as inspiration. I also used a great sketch from The Scrappiest and will be linking this up at the Holiday Madness linking party at Paper Issues! =) T

Three for Thursday

Have a few projects to share with you today! First up is a layout I created for Crafting Family for last week's post featuring my crazy cat and her odd places to choose to nap:

Next up I have this week's layout for Crafting Family. I had 6 photos of my 2 kiddos and 4 nieces painting in the craft room, and decided to print them all wallet-size in order to fit them on one page.

And my third project to share with you is this week's layout for Twisted Sketches. This week the twist is "white", so I followed the sketch with a jumbo white circle, did my title on white CS, added a chipboard flourish and made a fun scalloped border in white for my photo.

Thanks for visiting! =)T

Fabulous Fall

There's a new theme up at Paper Issues, "Thankful for Fall". A few weeks ago we had an absolutely gorgeous warm fall day, and my niece and I spent the afernoon raking leaves. Well, I was raking, she was jumping! Snapped a few great pictures and created a "Fabulous Fall" layout to remember the day:

This was one of those ridiculously quick pages to put together, don't you love those? Started with this gorgous pattern paper from Close to my Heart- I trimmed a 3" strip from the center and flipped it over and taped it in place to reveal the orange pattern on the reverse. I added a 1/2" strip of blue that was also trimmed from the same piece of paper- it's the flip side of the barcode, cool huh? The I just lined up my photos along the blue stip, leaving my focal photo slightly larger and matting it in a scrap of pale orange to help the photo stand out. Added 3 brads, a tab for the date, stamped "Fabulous" and covered it with glitter, and wrote in "fall". Simple layout done in under 20 minutes!

Are you working on any "Thankful for Fall" projects? Link it up over at Paper Issues, anything goes as long as you use paper!! =) T

"Fabulous Fall" Challenges:
-Paper Issues Thankful for Fall
-Make It Monday anything goes
-Just Some Lines orange and light blue
-ScrapFIT stamping

Anything Goes at 2 Sisters

The challenge this week at 2 Sisters Challenge Blog is "Anything Goes" and the DT was able to use some sweet images from Patty's Creations. I used a cute little polar bear image to create my project:

I'm sorry about his eyes looking a little creepy here, I promise you it's just the picture! In real life he is sweet, but the way the camera picked up the glitter and embossing made his eyes look funny... I hope you'll visit the rest of the DT over at 2 Sisters, and be sure to link up your "anything goes" project too! =) T

Challenges:
-2 Sisters anything goes
-ScrapFIT tags
-Pink Elephant gift tags
-Crafty Catz use a digital image

Catch-Up Time

Hello and happy Friday! Time for me to play catch up again, and share all my most recent DT entries! First up I have this month's layout for the challenge at Black With Two. This month Eve has asked us to use Black+lime+cream. I love these challenges because it gets me to scrap out of my comfort zone. I would never think to use this color scheme, but it really works and I love what I came up with. Also, I incorporated  sketch #125 from Twisted Sketches, and used a fabulous posie from Precocious Papers.

Next up....there's a new song up at Scrap It With a Song, Adele's "Rolling in the Deep". I had a few pics of my kiddos at a local pool this summer, and decided to go with "off the deep end" as my title:

And finally I have this week's LO and sketch over at Sketches in Thyme. I am the proud designer of this week's sketch and think it's a pretty good one to work with.

I hope you'll have a chance to check out these fabulous challenge blogs and see all the great work from the Design Teams. Link up your own takes too, I'd love to see what you come up with!! =) T

Time to Get Twisted

If you love a good sketch, you just have to give Twisted Sketches a try!! Anam designs fabulous sketches each week, paired with a cool twist. Here's my LO for last week's assignment; the twist was "feathers", so I tucked a little orange feather from the kiddos' art supplies behind my little journal spot. =) T

A Nap Time Triple T Project

There's a new challenge up at Triplicate Trials Tuesday, it's a triple challenge of color scheme, sketch and theme, "Time of your Life":

Here's my contribution:

I flipped the sketch to make it work with the cardstock I was using. It had this great printed background that would have been covered up if I put the pics on the right. I used "nap time" as my title to incorporate the "Time of your Life" theme, and added an embossed clock as a fun time accent. I hope you'll have a chance to see the rest of the great DT inspiration, and link up your own take at Triplicate Trials Tuesday! =) T

It's a Snowy November 1st Here!

Hello crafty friends! Hope this November 1st finds you warm and toasty in your little part of the world. Here in New England we celebrated Halloween in our snow boots with a foot of snow, and my kiddos are already on snow day #2 from school! In the spirit of the *LOVELY* weather here, I have a few snowy projects to share with you today:

First up I have my weekly LO for The Crafting Family using some lovely papers and chipboard letters from Pink Paislee. I'm also combining this with the new link theme over at Paper Issues, Snow Day!

Over at The Craft Garden, this month's challenge is Christmas, but you can't use red or green. I made a batch of snowman gift tags for the challenge:

Hope it's warm where you are today! =) T
