Frozen Delight

There's a new sketch challenge at Sketches in Thyme, and this week it's a 2-pager! Here's my layout:

and here's the sketch:

A 2-page layout is not something I do very often these days, but it's a great way to showcase pics when you have a bunch instead of trying to squish them all or limit the ones you choose to scrap. For this layout I had 4 4x6 photos that I could have easily fit on one 12x12, but spreading them out across 2 pages allows for more embellishment!

My fun little tidbit to share on this layout? The scallops across the page are cupcake liners- these days they come in all sorts of fun patterns and colors, so I grab them whenever I can and love using them in the craft room! Who can beat 100 fun polka dot scallops for $1?

I hope you'll stop on over to Sketches in Thyme and see the rest of the DTs takes on the sketch, and link up your own take too! =) T

Challenges:
-Sketches in Thyme sketch #73
-Scrappy Frogs seeing spots
-Pile It On up in the air
-My Craft Spot spring scallops

Make a Wish

It's time to get Twisted....here's my take on this week's sketch at Twisted Sketches, with the twist of "Wish":

I know, not very clever with the twist, I really wanted to be, but I had this adorable photo of my daughter mid-wish with last year's bday cake, so I just had to use it!! Stop by Twisted Sketches to check out the sketch for yourself and see how the rest of the DT interpreted the twist, perhaps they are a bit more clever than I am for this one!! =) T

Challenges:
-Twisted Sketches sketch + wish
-Just Us Girls cream, light pink, moss
-Kraft Journal kraft+ anything goes
-Pink Elephant get krafty

Birthday Boys

Hello Wednesday- time for a new challenge at Child's Play Challenges. This week we're playing with an all-time favorite, Play-Doh! Here's the LO I created inspired by the squishy stuff:

I used the colors from the packaging as the inspiration on my layout, and I pulled the cloud shape from the logo to create my background. Hop on over to Child's Play to see what the rest of the Design Team has come up with and join in the challenge! =) T

Challenges:
-Childs Play play doh
-Frosted Designs sketch

One of a Kind and Berry Sweet

oops- just realized that I neglected to post 2 of my layouts from last week...which is SO me, I always seem to be playing catch-up with at least one aspect of my life!! First up, I have my layout for "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" challenge going on right now at Child's Play Challenges, and *SHOCKER* it's a 2-pager!! My scrapbooking life rarely calls for 2-page layouts anymore, but with 6 photos it just had to be done!

As you can see, this was a super-simple, made-in-minutes layout! Handcut 3 circles from gingham paper; drew my title with a black sharpie and filled in with white ink. My one little fun tip on this page- I snapped an upclose pic of the strawberries when we were done picking (before we started devouring them!) to use in place of pattern paper as borders along the sides of the photos. It's great to have that picture of the gorgeous ripe berries the kiddos worked so hard to pick!

Next up is my layout for the sketch challenge currently going on at Sketches in Thyme:

My son has really been into his t-shirts lately, so I wanted to do a layout that captured him in a couple of his favorites. These types of layouts are my favorite to do lately, maybe because my kiddos seem to be growing up soooo quickly and I'm trying to remember every little moment! But I really like to create these layouts as little paper time-capsules that we can go back to years from now and say, "Remember when you LOVED your waffles T-shirt?".

Thanks for stopping by! =) T

Smile!

Hello Tuesday...time for me to post at The Crafting Family! Here's my contribution for this week:

and here's the cute sketch I used from Artful Delight:

Sort of switched up a bit, but I hope you can still see the sketch in my LO. I used 2 pics instead of 2, because I seem to be out of 1-photo layout options at the moment. Time to print more photos!! Thanks for stopping by, and happy spring!! =) T

It's a Wonderful Night for a Moondance

Just LOVE incorporating songs into my layouts, so it's perfect that I get to create layouts for Scrap It With a Song every week! This week the song is "Moondance" by Van Morrison, and there are just so many fabulous lines you could use in a layout. I went with the "wonderful night" part as my title and used this pic of my daughter, niece and some of their friends at a school dance:

I hope you'll stop on by Scrap It with a Song and see what the rest of the DT came up with- so many great ways you can take this song!! Be sure to play along and link up your take on the challenge too! =) T

I'm a Guest Designer at The Paper Variety!!

So excited to be a Guest Designer this week at The Paper Variety, and such a great challenge this week too!! And they've teamed up with ScrapFIT to offer you 2 challenges in one! The Paper Variety has created a sketch challenge and ScrapFIT has offered up a jounaling challenge. Put them together and you will get an awesome layout and a chance to WIN a prize from both places!

First up is The Paper Variety's sketch ...

and then combine with ScrapFIT's Workout #64 journaling challenge- "Its Easy as 1, 2, 3..." Just list out  your journaling numerically on your layout! Be sure to incorporate this journaling workout with the TPV sketch above so you can enter your layout at both places!

Here's what I came up with:

For this layout I decided to use a pic of my daughter and her baby cousin, who happened to be the 11th cousin she now has, hence my title "Cousin #11"! For my numbered list I wrote out the names of all the cousins in order of appearance in our family!

Hop on over to The Paper Variety and see all the fabulous takes on this two-for-one challenge and link up for your chance to win a fabulous prize! =) T

Leap Frog!

Tuesday is my day to post at Crafting Family, and I have a frog-tastic page for you today! I've been a fan off all-things frog since I was a toddler and picked out my first frog T-shirt at a beach souvenir shop. Since last week was leap day, and we're now in a leap year, I decided to scrap this crazy pic of me and my new Kermit hat (thanks to my kiddos for this fabulous Xmas gift!).  =) T

I am also linking this up with the latest Linking Party over at Paper Issues- this time around it's all about the green, so I think this fits perfectly! =) T

Sweet Little Amelia

Oops- forgot to share my LO I created for The Crafting Family last week! Sidewalk chalk is a big favorite here at my house, especially since I always seem to have a houseful of kiddos here, it's a great toy for all ages!! Here's a simple LO of my neice having a blast doing sidewalk chalk on a sunny afternoon last fall:

Since I just loved the pic so much, I kept the layout pretty simple, a bit of black spray ink to the pink background, layered the pic over a scrap of dotted paper, and then added a cluster of little embellies. I was clever enough to write her name on the driveway, so I decided that a title wasn't even needed for this one! Sometimes simple is best! =) T

Are You PINterested?

There's a new challenge up at True XOXO Scrapbooking, this time we're getting inspired by Pinterest!! I decided to create a LO that showcases a few of the projects I've created since getting hooked on this online bulliten board. While it does suck a lot of time out of my daily life, I've been really inspired by so many talented people out there, and have created scrapbook pages, greeting cards, holiday decor, recipes and even a Halloween costume!

I even have a Pinterest board dedicated to all my my finished projects and the original pins that inspired them called "Less Pinning, More Doing". You can check it out here. So, are you hooked on Pinterest too? Why not scrap about it and then share it with us at True XOXO, we'd love to see what you create!  =) T
