Sweet Toddler Days

Tuesday is my day to post at The Crafting Family, and I wanted to share this week's layout with you!

Found these cute little pics of my daughter, she's now 9, and these little popsicle picture were from when she was just a teesnsie-weensie 3 year old! Can't believe I missed these, so I just had to scrap them! For this layout I used a sheet of double-sided PP from Fancy Pants, and because I loved BOTH sides of the paper, I cut it into three equal strips, flipped the middle one to reveal the opposite pattern. A quick little trick to get the most out of your PPs! =) T

Plaid and Gingham at 2 Sisters

It's time to go plaid at 2 Sisters! We were given some sweet digital images to use from Crafty Sentiments; here's the card I created using the "Amy Just Relax" image:

I used a sweet scrap of pink and green plaid as the start of my project, and layered that with a scrap of a pink PP, my image and my "hello friend" sentiment.each layer was inked with black ink for a little added dimension, and then I ran a strip of pom pom fringe across the bottom, and added 3 little pink buttons. If you're in the mood to go plaid (or gingham) this week, remember to link up your project at 2 Sisters by September 30th! =) T

Challenges:
-2 Sisters gingham or plaid
-Pink Elephant pink and green color scheme
-CASE Study cased the card
-Shopping Our Stash no coloring

It's All About the Sentiment at 2 Sisters

This week's challenge at 2 Sisters is to make a card without any images, just focus on the sentiment. Here's the sunshine and cloud card I created:

To create this card, I started with 3 concentric circles in orange, yellow and pale yellow. I cut away at the edge of the orange circle to create the look of rays, and then inked up all the edges before layering together. I then hand cut a cloud shape and trimmed the sunshine circles to the same shape as the cloud. I layered all the pieces on black, cut around the edges and added my handwritten "You Are My Sunshine" title. A quick and simple card to brighten up any one's day! =) T

Challenges:
-2 Sisters lets get sentimental
-Challenge Up Your Life paper piecing
-Wee Memories no pattern paper

A New Challenge at the Triple T blog!

It's Tuesday, time for a new challenge at Triplicate Trials Tuesday! This time around we;re challenged to incorporate the colors purple, silver and misty blue; a fun sketch with a banner across the top, and the theme of Magic, Fiction and Fairy Tales. Here's what i came up with:

I didn't have any magical-themed pics to scrap right now, but I did have this cute pic of my kiddos playing at the waters edge while on a hike last fall. I decided to use the title "The Magic of Nature"- because it really is so magical to see how entranced my children are with hikes, exploring and everything about the great outdoors. I had a very pale purple that I used as a photo mat, journal strips and the pennants for my banner. But before creating those elements, I misted the paper with silver Smooch Spray to give it a metallic look.

Be sure and visit the Triple T blog to see all the rest of the fabulous takes, and join in the challenge too! =) T

"Happy Punch Day" challenge

Did you know that today was "National Punch Day"??? Nope, I didn't either, but those creative DT coordinators did at ~Lets Blog, and challenged the DT members to create a project in honor of this *special* occasion! Here's the card that I created:

Want to celebrate National Puch Day for yourself? Create a project using 20+ eyelets and be sure to share it at ~Lets Blog! =) T

Guest Designing at Desert Island Craft Challenge!

The lovely and talented designers at Desert Island Craft Challenge have given me the chance to be a guest designer this month. What's especially cool about being the GD is that not only  do I get a chance to play along with them, but I get to come up with the itinerary that they use for the challenge. Now if you're not familiar with their fun challenge, they post a new Desert Island Itinerary every 2 weeks which includes 10 items/techniques/colors, and you have to use at least 3 in your project. For my itinerary, I decided to create a "Back to School" shopping list:
  1. Lined Paper
  2. Books
  3. Chalk
  4. Pencils
  5. Tape
  6. Ruler
  7. Name Tag
  8. Lunch Money
  9. Plaid School Uniform
  10. Apple for the Teacher
And here's the layout I created, can you find the 5 items I used from the itinerary?

Did you find Lined Paper (my title and journal strips), Chalk (chalk ink around the edges), Tape (masking tape border), Plaid (bottom strip of pattern paper) and of course the Apple? I had a ton of fun working on this challenge, and even pulled out a 2-page layout, which are hard to come by in my craft room! Please visit the Desert Island Craft Challenge blog to check out the rest of the takes on my itinerary, and link up your own take too! =) T

Challenges:
-Kraft Journal kraft+fall
-Got Sketch sketch #123
-Pile It On colors of fall

My Sketch at The Crafting Family!

I was given the chance to create this month's sketch for the Crafting Family DT to play with!! Here's the sketch I designed:
And here's my take on it:

Fun little tip to share with you about this layout...I used a piece of pattern paper- but it was double-sided and I liked BOTH SIDES! My solution to this is to cut the paper in half, flip over one piece and piece together with some good old scotch tape. I covered the seam with a pretty piece of scalloped CS and I was ready to go. This is my quick little trick for getting the most out of that double-sided PP! Be sure and visit the rest of the Crafting Family DT to see the rest of the fun takes on the sketch, and link up your own take too! =) T

Tuesday's Post at Crafting Family

It's Tuesday, and that means it's my turn to post at The Crafting Family!

For this week's project, I started with some great Pink Paislee pattern paper. I incorporated a title block from Fancy Pants, dressed up with a spiral punch and some adorable mini paper clips. Since I was following the SKETCH at Sketchy Thursdays that called for 3 photos, I decided to repeat the same photo 3 times, just for a little something interesting, and also be cause I have a TON of these wallet-sized family portrait pics from 2003!! For the CHIPBOARD challenge at Heart Songs, I used a jumbo chipboard bird I had in my stash, one page of a Crayola chipboard board book I found in the kids craft section at Michaels for just $1!! I dressed it up with a calendar stamp to mimic the days of the week listed on the pattern paper. 3 of my ribbons are fastened with miscellaneous brads, while the 4th ribbon is fastened with a row of criss-crossed staples.

Be sure and stop on by The Crafting Family when you have a chance, there's a new DT project posted each day!! =) T

Time To Get Twisted!

Looking for the Triple T blog hop? Go here!

There's a new sketch posted at Twisted Sketches, and you'll have to take a hop over there to see how fabulous it is, but here's the LO I created with it:

For this LO, I used the SKETCH plus the twist of GREEN for Twisted Sketches. The photo is of my daughter doing homework for the first time in our new home 3 years ago for the SCHOOL theme at The Studio Challenges. To make the white layered scallops, I punched 3 1" strip sof white CS with my scallop punch inked each strip and then layered for this textured border. I added a small piece of a vintage ruler with NUMBERS for the challenge at Crop Suey. Lastly, I have several elements from the itinerary at Desert Island Craft Challenge including the color GREEN, the crocheted FLOWERS and TEXT PRINT. Can you see the text print? If you look closely, each polka dot is actually a dot of text, such fun paper!!

No be sure and go visit Twisted Sketches to see the latest sketch, the fabulous LOs the rest of the Design Team created, and link up your own take! =) T

September's Challenge at The Craft Garden

It's September 1st, time for a new challenge at The Craft Garden! We had a fun photo to use as our inspiration this month:

and some goreous flowers to include in our project too, thanks Kerry!

Put those two elements together, and here's what I came up with:

This was a layout that wasn't really in "the plan"- yes, I'm a planner. I have a binder that organizes all my scrapping projects, and this one was not in the works. Leftovers from a wedding LO, these adorable pics just didn't fit. And so they sat and sat (the pics are from 2002) until I recently came across them and squealed at my 2 little ones, I just HAD to scrap them!! See, I used to always scrap everything "event related", and missed out on the opportunities like this- to look at the photos and find other meanings. Not just pics of my kids at the wedding, but the fact that my son can find an adventure ANYWHERE- even at a wedding with no other playmates, he's racing through a field of sunflowers. And my daughter can nap ANYWHERE- even at a wedding filled with a ton of people and loud music!

I hope you'll be inspired by this month's prompt and link up your project at The Craft Garden, would love to see what you create!
=) T

Challenges:
-The Craft Garden photo inspiration
-Craft Us Crazy fall colors
