It's time for a classic game challenge at my blog, Childs Play Challenges. So pleased with the fun variety of layouts that the Design Team came up with, here's my contribution:

I didn't have any domino pictures, (which is odd because that is a family favorite here in my house), so I decided to pull the colors from the inspiration pic, which were green, black and white. I also incorporated a few other challenges, which I just love to do- gives me great direction and makes putting together a layout such an easy task! To get started in used this fabulous SKETCH from Frosted Designs. I used DOTS and STRIPES for the challenge at Divas by Design and punched out a bunch of BUTTERFLIES for Flutterby Wednesday. I am also linking this us at WHATEVER YOU WANT WEDNESDAYS linking party at Free Pretty Things.

Futures at Fenway

This week's sketch at Sketches in Thyme is a 2-page layout, which is something outside the comfort zone for a lot of us, but so much fun to work with!! Here's the very quick and simple layout I put together:

Simply Breathtaking

It's playlist time at Scrap It With a Song, this week the song is "Take my Breath Away" by Berlin...from the fabulous movie Top Gun! Oh I remember gushing over that movie with a friend in 8th grade, I was in love with the Iceman!! Anyway...here's my layout inspired by the song title, not at all inspired by the Iceman!

My journaling reads, "Never been a big fan of fall, but out here in my little Ashby oasis I can't help but notice the colors of fall are simply breathtaking".

This was another "made in minutes" layout, 15 to be precise! Inked the edges of two 3x3 scraps of PP and tucked behind my photo mat. Added a little felt bird and a journal jotter with the date. Ran a scrap of ribbon across, stamped the title, hand-wrote the journaling, and this simple little layout was complete!

Love You 2

Time for a new challenge over at Child's Play Challenges, this week we're asking you to create a layout inspired by the story book, Guess How Much I Love You. Such a sweet story of the love between a mom and her baby, and since I celebrated Valentines with my 2 kiddos last night, I decided to use that for my LO:

Yup, it's another one oif my super-simple, made-in-minutes layouts. No fancy-schmancy techniques here- just a little misting of the background, two squares of scrap pattern paper, handwritten title and a strip of pom-pom fringe. This layout was made in just 10 minutes- that is a serious record for me!! But it was a sweet photo of my 2 kiddos, so I wanted to keep everything simple and the focus on the pic.

Summertime Treats

Oh how we love the ice cream truck!! This week's layout for the Crafting Family was one of those "made in minutes" layouts that I love!! 

First, I started with a fabulous sketch from Page Maps- that's a sure way to save time if you're needing it!!! Cut my photos and pattern papers into 3x3s and placed them in a simple grid formation- this is a fabulous way to use those scraps!! Layered over graph paper (my go-to scrap item, it goes with everything!) and blue cardstock (misted with a bit of ink of course!!). Added a fun felt pennant from Martha Stewart (oh that Martha!!) and a couple other do-dads I had hanging around the craft room. Stamped and handwrote a quick title...and the simple and sweet layout was complete!! =)T

Fresh Beats

There's a new sketch up at Twisted Sketches, and this week the twist is "Fresh". Here's my take on the challenge:

We're big music lovers in this house, and Santa was generous with the music this year- together we received 12 new albums on xmas day!! So before all the CDs went onto our respective ipods, I stacked them up and snapped a pic to capture this musical moment!!

This month's challenge at The Craft Garden is a beautiful pic in honor of this year being a leap year:

I decided to use pastel colors and included stamped balloons all over the background. I used 2 photos for the PAIRS challenge at ABC Challenges, and a lovely striped chipboard heart for LOVE IS IN THE AIR at Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges:
