Happy Halloween Weekend!!

Oooh- it's only 2 days away, my favorite day of the entire year...Halloween!! I have been crafting like crazy this season, cards, layouts, and lots of home dec items. Have 2 projects to share with you today, first up is my trick-or-treat banner hanging on my mantle.

I rolled a vintage ruler stamping wheel in rust ink across 5x7 pieces of canvas, handpainted my fun letters in black and then added glitter for a bit of sparkle. What do you think? I'm adding this not-so-spooky banner to my etsy shop if you'd like one of your own!

Next up is a quick litte witch card for my Design Team post at 2 Sisters. The challenge this week is to create a project with Black, Orange, Purple and Lime Green. We used sweet little halloween images from The Crafting Boutique, here's my card:

Challenges:
-2 Sisters black, orange, purple and lime green
-Crafty Catz halloween

A New Song is up at Scrap It With a Song

This week the song challenge at Scrap It With a Song is "Fearless" by Taylor Swift. My daughter and I went to see Miss Swift last June, it was her xmas gift, and man can she put on a great show!! So I decided to pull out those pics for this challenge.

Instead of using lyrics from the song "Fearless", I kind of cheated and pulled lyrics from another TS song, "the Best Day" which really fit the mood of the day my daughter and I had together. If you're not familiar with the song, you can read the lyrics here. It is such a sweet mother/daighter song, and brought tears to my eyes the first time I heard it! To make my LO, I did a little misting, layered a couple pattern papers with some fun trims, embossed my stamp designs on chipboard and added a handwritten title. Be sure and stop on by Scrap It with a Song for more Design Team inspiration, and linkup your own "Fearless" design!! =) T

Challenges:
-Scrap It With a Song inspired by Taylor Swift
-Scrap Our Stash use a quote
-Inspire Me Fridays link party
-Pile It On be happy

Three-for-Tuesday!

Hello and happy Tuesday! 3 more projects to share with you today! First up I have a LO I created showing off my love of all things Beatles. I have a huge collection of memorabelia on display throughout our home, but for some reason the thought never crossed my mind to scrapbook about it. And then  Mindy posted the cover art from the album Abbey Road as inspiration for an assignment at Scrap It With a Song! I pulled out papers from The Crafting Family and here's what I created:

next up is my project for the DT at Triplicate Trials Tuesday. The latest challenge is combining hot pink, black and yellow; a cute sketch with circles and a banner; and the modern, chic theme. Here's the card I created using those prompts:

And finally I have my latest LO for Twisted Sketches. Anam has another fabulous sketch to use, plus the twist of "Spell". I was all caught up on Halloween projects *gasp* so i decided to incorporate "Spell" in my title, "A is for Anna":

Another batch of projects to share!

Ugghh- still playing catch up, here are a few more layouts I have to share with you:

There's always a fabulous sketch up at Twisted Sketches, and I have a LO to share with you from their sketch #122. It was a sketch +a "twist" to include twine, so I simply looped a bit of twine along the page behind a couple of my butterfly embellishments.

The girls at ~Lets Blog are celebrating Sweetest Day, so I made a quick little card for my sweet. I wrote the word "sweet" on a simple cardstock tag, and highlighted the word, as well as the edges of the tag, with a grey marker.

And finally, there's always a great challenge up at Triplicate Trials Tuesdays, here's the LO I created for the challenge #10. The colors to use were Navy and Khaki, the theme was fashion, and there was a fun sketch to play with too.

Pie Eating Contest!

The challenge this week at 2 Sisters is a sketch+Halloween. Having just been to our town's pumpkin fest the week before, I had the perfect photo to scrap:

and here's the sketch:

Yup, that's my son with a big old mess of pumpkin pie on his face! He didn't win the contest, but he sure did have fun trying!! The digital pumpkin stamp is from Robyn's Fetish and the fabulous posie is from Precocious Paper. Want to give this sketch a try? Be sure and link up with us over at 2 Sisters! =) T

A Few October DT Projects

I have been totally slacking with my blog the past 2 weeks, so I'm going to play a little catch-up and post a bunch of projects!

Have you seen the October challenge at Black with Two? It's such a pretty color combo, Black with light pink and aqua. You have 2 more weeks to get your entries in, so get scrapping. Here's my contribution:

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness month, and in honor of that, the DT members at ~Lets Blog were asked to create some pink projects. Here's the "Think Pink" card I made:

Each of the DT Members over at Crafting Family have a day that is their day to post, and my day is Tuesday. Here's the LO I posted 2 weeks ago:

Ok, i still have a ton more- I guess I've just been too busy creating to post, which isn't a bad thing! Thanks for stopping by!! =) T

You Me & a 900 Pound Pumpkin

Our library holds a fabulous "Pumpkin Fest" each October, the perfect way to celebrate Fall in my little small town. Games, pumpkin dcorating contests and local farmers sharing their amazingly huge pumpkins! Got a great pic of my 2 kiddos perched on said pumpkin last weekend- weighing in at 905 lbs, this as one HUGE pumpkin!! Since the assignment this week for the DT at 2 Sisters was to create a Halloween project using digi images from Whimsie Doodles- I decided to create this fun LO:

Cute, huh? I absolutely LOVE those owls from Whimsie Doodles! Few fun things to note on this LO: I inked through a scrap of punchinella for the dotted area in the top left. In the bottom right I added a piece of black mesh that was packaging from a toy- thought it had a fun "Halloween" feel to it, and it added a nice texture!

Don't forget to visit the 2 Sisters Challenge Blog to see the rest fo the wonderful DT Halloween creations, and link up your own takes too! =) T
Challenges:
-2 Sisters halloween, digi images
-Bird is The Word "you and me" and sketch
-Frosted Designs recipe challenge (I used yellow, chipboard, ink and buttons)
-Pile It On do it for fun

Reembering an Old Friend

I have created many LOs in my "Book of Me" that have helped get me though a tough time. I love how theraputic scrapbooking can be, and so when a dear friend from high school passed away a few weeks ago, it was off to the craft room for some art therapy:

I created this Lo for the latest challenge up at Scrap It With a Song, using the song "Heaven" by Bryan Adams. The first line in the song, "Thinkin about our younger years" was the perfect title to go with a couple pics from my high school days. =) T

Halloween Linky Party at Paper Issues

It's time for a new link party over at Paper Issues, and the theme this time is "Halloween"...haven't made any new spooky projects lately, but I do have a few "Oldies but Goodies" to share with you:

First up is my "Silly Mummy" layout I made for a challenge at Punky Scraps a while back; a scrap of fabric, some lovely crocheted flowers and a bit of mist made for a very punky LO!

Next I have a paper mache Witch Hat I made for a swap, lots of torn scraps of fun papers decoupaged on the hat base, some fancy boa trim along the brim of the hat, and a fabulous wooden star wand poking out of the top...

Be sure to check out the fabulous Halloween projects posted by the Paper Issues DT , and link up your own spooky creations too! =) T

World Card Making Day!

Today is World Card Making Day, how are you celebrating? I am enjoying this special day by participating in the Blog Hop over at Operation Write Home. OWH is a fabulous organization that gathers cards to send to our troops- and then those troops get to send lovely hand-made greetings home to their loved ones!

I'm going to be making up a big old batch of cards to send in, so I created a simple design that is easy to mass-produce:

I created the "let it snow" sentiment on the computer and sized it so it would fit perfectly in my 1.5" circle punch. I also punched out 1.5" circles out of 3 different shades of blue, and layered little punched snowflakes on each. After arranging on my olive base, I added little white pindots with a white gel pen around the edge, and my simple card is complete!

I hope you'll have a chance to see all the great cards being created today through the OWH Blog Hop, and maybe jump in and make a batch yourself! As thanks for stopping by, I have a little gifty of goodies from my etsy shop. Just be a follower and leave a comment, and I'll choose one lucky person at random on Monday! =) T
